The brief

The problem to solve

Maududi’s books, articles and Tafheem-ul-Quran are spread across websites and scanned Urdu PDFs. Scanned Urdu needs careful correction before anyone can search it — let alone ask it questions.

Built forStudentsResearchersGeneral readersEditors

Objectives

  1. Bring his books and articles into one corpus
  2. Turn scanned Urdu PDFs into clean Unicode text
  3. Correct OCR errors without changing the words
  4. Let readers ask questions in Urdu or English
  5. Browse the books and articles behind the answers
What we built

From scanned pages to answers

First the library became clean, structured Urdu text; then readers could talk to it.

Collect

Books and articles gathered into one corpus.

STEP 02

OCR

Google Cloud Vision reads the Urdu pages.

STEP 03

Proofread

Gemini fixes OCR errors, keeping the text intact.

STEP 04

Structure

Unicode text, linked JSON and Word volumes.

STEP 05

Ask

Architecture

How the system fits together

A Python pipeline turns the sources into clean Urdu text; a React chat app streams answers from an API built on that corpus.
